Live It Up Run. An amazing 8km route to Tigh Na Mara.
Standerwick Personal Training has created the ultimate running experience ! They have found the perfect combination, a stunning setting, an achievable distance, a great running route that takes you through quiet roads, and beautiful trails along the shore and ends with drinks and tapas at Tigh Na Mara Resort & Spa. The first “Live it Up Run” was held on Sunday, November 9th and I can easily say that it was a success. The run was well organized and planned, the route was well marked, there were water & first aid stations along the way and every detail was taken care of. At the end of the run, participants were given an overstuffed goodie bag that included the following:
• A quality running touque • Post-race cocktail & tapas • $25 Gift Certificate towards a 60, 75 or 90 minute Grotto Spa treatment of your choice • Complimentary access to the Grotto Spa Mineral Pool• 2 Pairs of Sock It To Me socks• Water bottle• Energy Bar
Once all the runners had past the finish line and had a cocktail and delicious food in hand, prizes were given (there were some stellar prizes + plenty of them). After some lingering and post run excitement, lots of runners headed over to the Grotto Spa for a dip in the mineral pool and a well deserved spa treatment.
I had 4 runners from Gabriola in the car with me, and I can tell you that they all were pleased that they had registered, and there was lots of chatter and plans for attending this “annual event” next year. I volunteered this year (see the picture of the girl on the bike – even the volunteers felt pampered and had a lot of fun), but next year I think I’ll be running the route and enjoying the spa.
