Taking part in the BC BIKE RACE 2015!

Guy (Andrew Parcher) from our Real Estate team signed up for the BC Bike Race with his brother, Michael Parcher about a year ago, it sells out quickly so you have to be quick when registration opens. Now, the 7 day mountain bike adventure has begun and it sure is an amazing experience! Friday night started in North Vancouver with a mandatory bike check in and a night in a hotel- the rest of the week they will be sleeping in tents. Saturday was a safety meeting and travelling to Cumberland, Day 0. On Sunday, they woke up to a scorching day in Cumberland and set out for a good ride with lots of elevation gain on single track trails. The riders came across the finish line looking dusty and hot after a 48 km ride in 30+ degree weather. After crossing the finish line most of the riders quickly asked to see if they were on the early ferry to Powell River, which meant picking the tent, yoga on the beach and sitting down for dinner. Guy and Michael were happy to be on that bus and find a tent in the trees and have some time to stretch and get ready for Day 2.
It’s amazing to see the number of international riders at this event, with approx. 576 riders signed up for this 7 day adventure, what a great way for the world to see how beautiful BC is and how much it has to offer.
